In person none of these exist; we will say so in the description if it may be otherwise. Whether you plan on using it in the field or merely displaying it among your finest pieces, you'll be thrilled by its quality of materials, craftsmanship and especially by the beauty of it. It was made in Illinois a few years ago by custom maker Gary McCafferty, who made knives under the name Buzzard. His modest B stamp is found on the base of its blade along with his signature arrowhead file-worked along the top of its spine.

It's in perfect shape, never used and not even much held. It comes in a beautiful, high-quality Schrade leather sheath that is American-made and fits the knife like the proverbial glove; Gary does not sell his knives with sheaths so there is no such thing as an original sheath from this maker.

Blade is very fine carbon steel, made by reforging and heat-treating an old file, with a WICKEDLY sharp, radius-ground edge that will delight even the most jaded user--shaving sharp. Handle is the real star of this piece, made of beautifully green dyed American box elder burl, interspersed with a segment of undyed burl and a few spacers. It's a full tang piece with G96 liners of black and white and a gorgeous pin/rivet pattern that includes one of Gary's own designed mosaic pins.

Just look at it--a work of the cutler's art. Grip is ergonomically correct and using this knife, either in the field for hunting or for self-defense would be a pleasure. The overall presentation of this knife is just striking, as you can plainly see. It measures 8-1/8" long with a thick and sturdy 3.5" blade but the biggest thing about it is the sheer beauty and quality of such a knife.

Condition of this knife is as new and has never been used. An excellent opportunity to add some quality and heft to your collection by picking up a fine custom knife that user and collector alike will immediately embrace as an heirloom.
