1976 - 1983 L6 GERBER LEGENDARY BLADE MARK I KNIFE PORTLAND ORE USA BOOT DAGGER. Here's a great piece from GERBER LEGENDARY BLADES.

The Mark 1 was introduced in 1976 and is basically a shorter version of their famed FAIRBAIRN Sykes inspired MARK II Combat fighting knife. This one has a cord wrapped handle that is not original but could be easily removed. Spear blade is serrated on one side.

It comes with the original sheath. The steel was changed in 1984 and they added an "S" to distinguish between the blade steel used on these.

This is a relatively early serial number with only numerals which places it between 1976 - 1983 from what I understand. It should be noted that records were not nearly as detailed on the Mark I as on the earlier Mark II.
