2nd Pattern Fs Fighting Knife, Deep Blued Blade Signed W. E. Fairbairn (812)

  
DISPOSING (SLOWLY) OF A VERY LARGE, LIFELONG COLLECTION OF POCKET. POSTING A COUPLE A DAY SO BOOKMARK ME FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. NOTE - no attempt has been made to polish, clean or otherwise make this knife more attractive for photos. A quality Second Pattern Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife, the blade signed on one side W. Fairbairn" with correct "FS Fighting Knife logo to the ricasso. The maker is a mystery to me, however the cross guard is stamped "170", so possibly a limited edition. This is NOT a WW2 model but appears to be a later, high quality commemorative, complete with a canted blade.

Measures approximately 11 7/8 inches long overall, tip to pommel end. Deep blued dagger blade measures approximately 7 1/16 inches long, tip to start of cross guard. Obverse with etched signature W. Obverse ricasso with "The FS Fighting Knife" etched shield. One side of the top of the cross guard is stamped "170".

Provided in a padded, fleece lined pouch - no sheath. There are a couple of patches of light wear to the blue on both sides of the blade; and some light wear at the pommel/lug.
