Vintage 1980th TEXAS WILDCAT model 558 boot knife manufactured in Japan for Compass Industries Inc. (HQ was based in New York, NY). The knife is only slightly used with just a couple of hairline scratches and an minor paint chip on the handle. This knife is pretty much a miniature rip-off of the famous Gerber's MARK I dagger. Unlike some other MK1 clones, Compass' Japan-made quality daggers were as good as "the real deal". This handsome dagger is about 7" / 17.8 cm overall; the blade is about 3-1/2" / 9 cm. Solid cast aluminum handle with dark-gray non-slip finish; all parts are tight with no play. The blade is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact.

Original leather sheath looks unused, the leather is soft and supple; boot spring is nice and tight. COMPASS, Japan 1980th Texas Wildcat boot knife dagger - like mini Mark I, sheath. Made these for just a few years before they had to stop taking advantage of Gerber's design. The knife comes with the original early-issue black leather "boot-clip" sheath. Nice vintage MK1 clone in better-than-average condition; you will not be disappointed.
