This is a very odd thing to me. Looks to be a purpose-made dagger knife, like from the factory, doesn't look custom made to me and how would they happen to have the name stamp right there when finished? I know Briddell made meat cleavers and US military machetes / bolos, but this is an oddball. Feels heavy for what's here, like cast iron (magnet sticks), weighs 5.8 ounces. Is 7 5/8" long, blade is about 3 ¼" of that.
Very unusual thing, I cannot find any info on this on the interwebs. If you collect "Briddell" I bet you've never seen this before.
A crazy guess would be "they or some individual" started to produce a dagger, but it wasn't something they chose to pursue. I've seen some crazy stuff come out of old factories when guys had spare time to play around.
I'm lost on this. Cool old knife for the collector. Have a lot of knives for sale. You will have fun browsing.
Thank you for taking your time to look. Thank you for your understanding.
