Ultra rare WW2 USM3 Guard and Blade marked Utica Fighting Knife, Trench Dagger

  

Original and very rare example of a WW2 USM3 Utica. Transitional piece made about 1944 when Utica changed from blade marking to guard marking their knives.

Bright blade and guard in excellent condition and both with the correct Utica factory marks. Pommel has US ordnance bomb stamp and is also tight with no movement. Comes with its original and correct M8 Scabbard that shows signs of wear from being worn and carried.

First issued in March 1943. And was designed for use by forces in need of a close combat knife, such as Airborne units, Special Forces and Army Rangers. The M3 would also replace the. FairbairnSykes fighting knife or OSS dagger. Service in 1944 before production ended in August of 1944.
