Antique 1750s - 1840s Era (Islamic) Afghanistan - Pakistan Region - Pesh Kabz / Choora Fighting Knife Dagger W/ Original Leather Over Wood Scabbard. This dagger is in strong sturdy condition nothing loose on the handle or the hilt. This dagger is from a life time weapons collector.

From the information i acquired from the prior owner and info i could find thru extensive research, i believe this to be most likely from the 1700s era of the approximate dates that i stated above, mostly due to the construction and make of the dagger, its a bit more crudely constructed then the ones made in the 1870s - 1910s era because of technological advancement in weapons making. This dagger is completely hand forged it does have some etched designs along both sides of the hilt and on the thick back of the weapon, it also has what appears to be a makers mark on the hilt (SEE PHOTO 6). The handle is made of either bone or some type of horn.

Typically these weapons were worn on the belt and was for use in close quarters combat during battle or military engagments. The Pesh Kabz / Choora is the fighting knife attributed originally to the Mahsud, a tribe of the Khyber pass region between Pakistan and Afghanistan, tho t his type of weapon once distributed was widely used in all areas of North India, Afghanistan, Pakistan and other few other portions of central Asian countries.
